Basmati rice stakeholders request Sindh government to promote cultivation vigorously in Sindh

On behalf of myself and all stakeholders in the rice sector, I am requesting all to kindly understand the need to save, protect and promote our Basmati rice in order that it’s production/cultivation is increased in every season. Basmati has been cultivated in Sindh since centuries and it’s mention is available in history. This message is to promote handsome cultivation in Sindh as our Basmati grown in Sindh has been recognized, acknowledged and is in demand all over the world just like our Basmati grown in Punjab. Our point is that it can be grown more abundantly so that we are in a position to meet the growing demands of all countries of the world. In view of this fact , we request all stakeholders to join hands to promote its cultivation, processing, branding and global marketing. We have requested the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to help and support the rice growers, traders and exporters to achieve best results. Inshallah our rice guru Mr Hamid Malik will begin the innings with his detailed talk on how this can be achieved and one by one all our experts will deliberate on the subject and then we will have discussions and webinar and conferences in basmati rice growing areas.
