Unisame issues checklist for SME units to support civil defense

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has issued a check list for ready reference and preparedness to SME units.

President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said it is very important for all SME units in Pakistan to take measures for safety and protection of its workers and staff to face any eventuality in case of any situation demanding medical care and shelter.

UNISAME has advised all SME units to keep first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, portable lamps, UPS systems and alternate energy systems available and ready. It is also very important to keep potable drinking water and energy biscuits available at the help desk in the unit.

For the sake of uninterrupted production, the units must ensure they have sufficient raw material and also packing materials. It is also very important to keep the logistics in ready mode and a prior-check must be carried out.

The Union has also advised its SME units to keep contact numbers ready of their workers and staff and the nearest police station and civil defense centres handy and also helpline numbers of social welfare organizations.

As such the civil defence authorities have a checklist which the industries have to follow. Nevertheless UNISAME has in view of the present circumstances,  which demands alertness has issued a reminder to its members. 

The UNISAME volunteers would be available for help and a committee is being formed  under Rabee Altaf Malik with a help line contact number for emergency.
